Armed with a BE in Chemical Engineering and an MSc in Process Safety & Loss Prevention from the University of Sheffield, UK, his expertise lies in providing technical assurance to major Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Energy, and Re-Insurance companies, focusing on Process Safety, loss prevention & Risk Engineering.
Sunil has worked with world renowned Engineering companies like Technip FMC, DNV and Operating companies like Kuwait Oil Company, British Petroleum-ROO. As a Lead Process Safety Engineer, Sunil has spearheaded the Design of Upstream Gathering Centers, Oil Pipelines, Gas pipelines, overseeing high valued Greenfield projects worth more than $1.5 billion USD. He is a trusted Process Safety Technical Authority, approving critical safety studies such as QRA, HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL assessments, Bow Ties, Safety Critical Elements, PSM and Facility Siting. His knowledge extends to radiation and dispersion analysis, hazardous area classification, fire protection, and the development of technical safety philosophies for oil and gas plants.
With 600+ Risk Assessments and 190+ man-days of safety management system audits under his belt, Sunil has worked extensively with contractors from Korea, India, and the Middle East. His sour gas expertise includes collaboration with Shell Kuwait consultants on EPF-50, where he was trained in Shell FRED, Bow Ties, SIMOPS, and other specialized studies.
