An FLP (Flameproof) Gravity Limit Switch for cranes is a safety device with an IP66, die-cast aluminum, flameproof enclosure used in hazardous environments like Zone 1, 2, 21, or 22 to prevent excessive hoist travel. It operates by having a suspended weight, attached to the hoist rope, rest on the hoist's surface at a predetermined point, making the weight's wire sag and causing a counterweight to lift and break the power circuit, stopping the hoist motor.
