Kammprofile gaskets are appropriate for Class 150–2500 service and provide a secure and reliable seal in the most demanding circumstances for both standard pipe and equipment flanges. It has replaced jacketed gaskets as heat exchanger gaskets due to its exceptional compressibility and recovery properties, which maintain seal integrity in high pressure and high temperature applications. Soft, conformable facing materials are bonded to both sealing surface faces of a solid, grooved metal core in Kammprofile gaskets. Gasket seating is aided by the soft, conformable facings with low initial stress, and the facing material is trapped inside the grooves to reduce flow .
